About
A program of a foundation, not a product of a company
IntellaRx is the Compassionate Compliance Program of Sevadar Foundation Inc., a 501(c)(3) public charity. That structure is a deliberate part of the design.
Why the structure matters
A great deal of the harm in this story came from incentives. Distributors and chains had a volume incentive. Pill mills had a cash incentive. Enforcement had a caseload incentive. Insurers had a cost incentive. Almost nobody in the chain had an incentive that pointed at the outcome for the person in pain.
Running this program inside a 501(c)(3) does not make anyone virtuous, but it does remove one class of incentive from the design, and it makes the organization’s finances a matter of public record. An agency evaluating IntellaRx can read them.
